Gunmen Assassinate Top Politician’s Brother
Some gunmen on Tuesday night killed the younger brother of the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters in Oyo State.
The 45-year-old Isaac Orisadeyi was a younger brother to Funmilayo Orisadeyi.
Mr Orisadeyi was killed along the Idi-isin-NIHORT Road in Ibadan.
The commissioner and the police confirmed the incident to PREMIUM TIMES. Mrs Orisadeyi said two hospitals “rejected her younger brother before he gave up.”

El-Rufai’s Son Blast Muslims Over His Marriage Photo
Bashir El-Rufai, one of the sons of Kaduna state governor, has responded to Muslims criticizing him over his loved-up photo with his wife, Nwakego Kazaure.
He shared the loved-up photos of both of them on his social media handles. Some Muslims felt the photos were ‘Inappropriate’ and called him out for them. Read here.
Well, Bashir has replied his critics. His response reads;
”If my pictures with my wife does not sit well with some & due to the various unsolicited opinions, I’d just like to use this opportunity to say that they are very stupid & if there’s any other way these pictures can make them feel worse than they already do, please let me know.”

Two Female Pupils Die After Taking Drugs
Two female pupils of St James African Church Nursery and Primary School, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta, died on Wednesday morning after allegedly taking deworming drugs administered on them by their teachers.
The ingestion of the drugs followed commencement of the annual deworming exercise for over 700,000 pupils in 14 Local Government Areas of Ogun by the government.
Eight-year-old Omolaso Keyede in primary two and nine-year-old Eniola Oyeyemi in primary 4 reportedly died from dehydration following hours of stooling and vomiting after taking the deworming drugs.

#ENDSARS: Buratai Reacts To CNN Report On Lekki Massacre, Insists Nigerian Army Observed Rules Of Engagement
Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, has insisted that the Nigerian Army acted professionally and kept to the rules of engagement in the handling the #ENDSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on October 20, 2020.
He disclosed this while reacting to a report by CNN on Wednesday, which revealed how soldiers of the Nigerian Army killed several peaceful demonstators at Lekki Toll Gate.
Buratai spoke while receiving members of the House of Representatives Committee on Army on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said, “Let me assure you and all Nigerians that the Nigerian Army is professional. We follow our rules of engagement. Nigerians should feel safe.
“We abide by rules of engagement and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Bread Tax Is Evil, We Are Investigating Those Behind It – Governor Yahaya Bello
Governor Yahaya Bello has described the bread tax which recently ignited controversy in Kogi state he governs as evil.
Briefing the press after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday November 17, Bello vowed to investigate and punish those behind the imposition of bread tax in the northcentral state.
“The particular incident of bread tax is being looked into as I speak, we are investigating those that are behind this.
“It is evil and it is unaccepted, to say the least. I have ordered the Head of Service to issue queries to those that are responsible and they will face the law accordingly.”

Hospital Allegedly Seizes Body Of 20-Year-Old Fashion Designer Killed By Police Over “N50 Bribe”
The family of 20-year-old Ayomide Taiwo, who died at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, has accused the management of the hospital of seizing his corpse over unpaid bills.
Recall that Taiwo, a fashion designer died on August 9, 2020, days after one Inspector Ago Egharevba, attached to Obokun Divisional Police Headquarters, allegedly hit him on the head with the butt of his gun over N50 bribe.
The incident happened at a checkpoint in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State on August 3, while the deceased was returning to his base in Owena, Ondo State, after celebrating Eid-el-Kabir, with his widowed mother. Read previous report Here
Adebayo, a younger brother of the deceased told PREMIUM TIMES that the police did not assist them to settle the hospital bills.
