Kogi Commissioner Abdulmumuni Danga charged for rape
The embattled Kogi Commissioner for Water Resources, Abdulmumuni Danga, has been charged to court for alleged rape. The Police in Abuja perfected charges against Danga for alleged rape and brutalization of one Elizabeth Oyeniyi in Lokoja, Kogi State.
According to the charge sheet signed by the State Prosecutor, ACP Effiong Asuquo and filed on September 4, 2020, Danga would be prosecuted by the police on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The Commissioner is to be arraigned alongside one Success Omadivi, 35. Trouble started for the victim identified as Elizabeth Oyeniyi when she posted on her Facebook wall, a message urging the commissioner to assist his kid sister and other members of his family financially, following series of complaints by the commissioner’s sister to her.
The commissioner reportedly hired thugs to abduct Elizabeth from her home in Lokoja with her three-year-old son after stumbling upon her post. Narrating how the commissioner raped her, she said Danga held her captive and took her to a hotel at night where he forcefully had sex with her.

Tension as Ondo Monarch announces death of rival monarch
There is tension in the Ikare community as the Olukare of Ikare Akoko in the Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Akadiri Momoh, officially announced the death of a rival monarch, Oba Samuel Adegbite Adedoyin, who died on Tuesday last week.
In a letter by the Olukare to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to intimate him and the general public on the death of Owa Ale, he referred late Adedoyin as a “High Chief”.
Oba Momoh, in the letter in which the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Chairman of the Akoko North-East were copied, said the late traditional chief died at the age of 85.

Ambulance driver rapes COVID-19 patient he was transporting to hospital
In a shocking incident, a COVID-19 patient from Pathanamthitta was subjected to sexual assault inside an ambulance while being shifted to a COVID care centre on Saturday midnight. The ambulance driver, identified as Noufal, 29, of Kayamkulam, was arrested in connection with the case.
According to the police, the victim, a 19-year-old woman, was being shifted to a COVID care centre at Pandalam from Adoor when the molestation took place. The victim, along with another 42-year-old female patient, had boarded the ambulance from Adoor late on Saturday.
Upon dropping the first patient at the District General Hospital at Kozhencherry, the ambulance then proceeded to a COVID care facility at Pandalam with the second patient. But as they reached Aranmula, the accused took a diversion to an isolated location and molested the patient on board. Following this, the accused apologised to the woman and soon dropped her at the destination.

Erica’s disqualification worse day of my life- Laycon
Laycon has described Erica’s disqualification as the worse day of his life.
He stated this to Dorathy during a conversation on Monday. “Yesterday was the worst of my life in this house, Dora. You’re the first person I’m telling this and probably the only person I will tell,” he began. Laycon said he regrets staying away from Erica while she was in the House.
“I keep thinking that if I hadn’t given her space, maybe this would not have happened. “You know the odd thing as I jumped on the chair in the HoH Lounge, I saw her earrings. “I gave them to Kiddwaya. I can’t keep it because she might not want me to have it, I really feel bad,” he added.

10 injured as five vehicles crash in Anambra
Ten persons sustained varying degrees of injury in a multiple auto crashes in Nnobi Nkpor road in Nnewi, Anambra state.
The accident which occurred around 9.50 am near a river involved five vehicles with thirteen persons on board.
The Nation gathered that the incident was caused by excessive speeding leading to loss of control of the Mitsubishi L300 bus which resulted in secondary crashes of other vehicles. Confirming the incident, Ag. Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Kamal Musa said no life was lost in the crash.

7-year-old girl slaughtered by unknown woman for ritual purpose while hawking brooms in Jos
A 7- year-old girl identified as Juwairiya Auwal was slaughtered by a suspected female ritualist inside a hut in Jos Museum, Plateau State.
It was gathered that on Saturday, September 5, Juwairiya Auwal and her elder sister Fatima Auwal, went out as usual to hawk brooms around Tudun OC in Rikkos community, Jos north local government area of the state, when they were accosted by an unknown Fulani woman. Narrating how her younger sister was killed, Fatima said they were hawking when they met the Fulani woman who initially pretended to be a prospective costomer.
The woman asked them to give her a broom free of charge but they refused. Suddenly, she touched their heads and they found themselves in a hut in the popular Jos Museum. According to Fatima, when she opened her eyes she found the elderly woman slaughtering Jumairiya. She managed to escape to look for help.
