Kashamu’s Family Breaks Silence On Death, Burial
The family of a former lawmaker, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has formally announced his death.
The late senator who represented Ogun East Senatorial District died of COVID-19 on Saturday in a Lagos private hospital.
According to his family, he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Ijebu Igbo in Ogun State on Sunday according to Islamic rites by 12 noon.

Kashamu Could Not Escape Death – Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted to the death of ex-Ogun Senator, Buruji Kashamu.
In a statement by his spokesman, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo said despite using politics to maneuver the law to escape justice, Kashamu could not escape death.
“Senator Buruji Kashamu in his lifetime used the maneuver of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. But no legal, political, cultural, social, or even medical maneuver could stop the cold hand of death when the Creator of all of us decides that the time is up” said Obasanjo.

Fayose Slams Obasanjo Over Kashamu Statement
A former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has criticized a former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, over his comment on Buruji Kashamu‘s death.
“I also condemn the statement made by former President Obasanjo on his (Kashamu) death.
It is regrettable that Obasanjo could say what he said about Buruji Kashamu after his death and when he can no longer question him. Why didn’t he say that when Kashamu was alive?” Fayose said on Twitter.

Assassins Have Entered Edo To Kill Prominent Politicians – Philip Shaibu
The Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has alleged that some unknown men are currently in Edo State to assassinate some high-profile personalities in the state.
He stated this during a press conference in Benin City, the capital of Edo State on Saturday.
The Deputy Governor said President Muhammadu Buhari should rise to the occasion and call the security agencies to “do their work ”

Laycon Almost Moved To Tears As Kiddwaya Kisses Erica
The drama between Laycon, Erica and Kiddwaya in the BBNaija house took a new turn last night when the rapper almost cried after Kiddwaya kissed Erica in his presence.
It was just moments after the Saturday night party and the housemates had retreated to their various beds.
Erica who was apparently drunk could be seen lying down on her bed as Kiddwaya made move to kiss her repeatedly, which didn’t seem to go well with Laycon.

Police Kill Eight Bandits
The Katsina State Police Command says it has killed eight suspected bandits in Batsari local government area of the State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Katsina, NAN reports.
Isah said that on Aug. 6, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Batsari, led Operation Puff Adder to Zamfarawa village based on a report that bandits numbering over 40, armed with AK 47 rifles attacked the village.
